Card holders......Vintage postcards

I have loved Vintage postcards longer than I can remember. And so does/has my Mary girl. She recently sent me an envelope full of the most AMAZING "Souvenir" Postcards. They are from the 1900's and generally left a space for people to write on the image, "Souvenir from".....and the sender would fill the Place they were in the blank.

A couple of months ago, with my love for vintage wooden thread spools, I found that if I wrapped a wire and stuck it in a thread spool, it made a fun holder for Vintage postcards, Photos, etc,

Take a STURDY piece of wire and wrap it around a pencil to create 3 loops. Cut and insert into a Vintage thread spool.  That's it! You don't have to glue, etc. And it will hold paper images.

You can stack the wooden spools for Height. ..............

I've always loved these Vintage Postcards, including the message on the backside! ("The wheat is in." We have a new cow. The weather is getting better, etc.)

Feel free to use this "Card Holder idea." But I'd love it if you share either images OR Messages your read on the back!!

I got about 30 of these from my Mary girl. It was both with Joy and Sadness. Joy because she KNOWS how much I would enjoy them, and sadness that she is parting with them. I will share other images here and on Pinterest  (Under Shell's Favorites).

I hope your week is going well. Truly I am taking it one day at a time right now. These last couple of days have been a gift. Sun, rest and comfort.

May you find Joy and comfort in the little things!

Oh, you all know how I love my glitter and my "Bling." But to truly Sparkle? It is a bit more!! -----

You Sparkle when you find the beauty in EACH moment.
You Sparkle when you take JOY in simple things.
You Sparkle when you reach out to EACH person that crosses your path that you take time to get to understand, know and care for, if only in that shared moment.

And your Sparkle is brightest, when you combine ALL those things-
awareness, acceptance, beauty, awe, kindness and simply living in that moment.

May you Sparkle and share your brilliance, every day in every way!

(Just found out that my Mary girl was in the Hospital this last week! with pneumonia......( I think my brother tries to protect me) But I want to protect them BOTH!!

New treatment advice tomorrow........so tonight, I took the dogs (and ME) on a LONG walk!

The tumor cannot be removed....we just take it ODAT......One day at a time! Hope to talk with her soon,,,,,,,just to let her know how much I love her........how much she has always meant to me.

Oh yes, truly a breath. a prayer, a moment at a time time of life.............Will share some growth and creativity soon...........

Hugs, love and thank you ALL so much for your support/prayers/love/kindness as of late!!

A bit of Whimsey on a blustery Day!

I REALLY wanted to work outside today! Gardening is great therapy and my yard needs a major clean up!! The weather forecast was for SUN today! HA! The wind blew like crazy and the drizzle that we're all to familiar with in Washington state was pretty constant.

I pulled the recycling bin to the back yard and noticed the snails-I kid you NOT 4 deep in a bed I'd hope to clean up! The Crocus are teasing, the snow drops ARE blooming and I just let it go. Hopefully soon. If you garden, you KNOW how good it feels to pull the weeds, and yes, even get those slime balls OUT of there!!

So instead, worked on some Easter! I've done peat pot stuff before, but found these little square numbers and thought they would be fun to turn into baskets........

A bit Vintage, a bit new, fun to put all together.

Thank you for your kind words and support. It's a "one day at a time" thing right now. But I am blessed by dear friends-that means all of YOU!

I'm SO tired this week. I think it's a mental thing. But I'm off now to take my dogs for a short walk. I think they KNOW that mom isn't quite her "normal" self! HA! Whatever THAT means!

I'll be busy working at Joyworks this weekend, which IS always a JOY because I love my co-workers, our lovely store and all the wonderful customers we see. I hope you ALL have a great weekend.

(Please continue to pray for my Mary. I spoke ever so briefly with her today. She'd been napping. "Love you, call soon." This is a one day, one week at a time thing. This cancer/tumor is not going to go away, I just pray that it doesn't grow/spread.)
